CLGM -Society of Local Government Managers
The professional Society of Local Government Managersregulates the practices of local government managers and ensures its membersact in the best public interest. Under Alberta Statute, the Society setspractice standards along with remedial actions. As well, the Society recognizesprofessional managers with a Certified Local Government Managers (CLGM)designation.
The Certified Local Government Managers (CLGM) designationsignifies a public manager who has already received a high level of academicand professional achievement and has a commitment to ongoing education. Aswell, the CLGM designation recognizes a manager, of good character andreputation, who practices the standards governed by the Society.
Membership consistsof professional members from both rural and urban municipalities acrossAlberta. As well, the Society has Student Members who are working toward theirfirst CLGM certificate program. Associate members have completed the firstcertificate required for the CLGM designation and are currently working tocomplete the final educational requirement.
